On February 26th, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, ServiceNow announced that it has developed a telco‑specific GenAI solution called Now Assist for Telecommunications Service Management (TSM).
Many features within Now Assist are powered by ServiceNow fine-tuned Large Language Models (LLMs) and customised using NVIDIA NeMo (used for prompt tuning for example), which is part of the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform for the development and deployment of AI applications. Now Assist is built on the Now Platform and uses NVIDIA AI to help telco customer service agents provide fast and accurate support by leveraging GenAI‑powered chat summarisation, or agent assist capabilities (e.g., next-best-action).
Now Assist is available for ServiceNow TSM, a ServiceNow module specifically designed for the telecommunications industry, combining IT Service Management (ITSM) and Customer Service Management (CSM) with industry-specific features.
Since the public announcement in May 2023, ServiceNow and NVIDIA have been exploring a number of GenAI use cases to simplify and improve productivity across the enterprise. Using NVIDIA software, services, and infrastructure, ServiceNow is developing custom LLM. The companies plan to build out additional GenAI use cases for the telco industry in the future.
